About Me
Dr. Paulpoj Chiranand is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. He completed a two-year vitreo-retinal fellowship at the University of Chicago, where his training focused on the diagnosis and management of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and other retinal abnormalities. Dr. Chiranand has participated in several national clinical studies related to treatments for diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Chiranand serves as a clinical professor at Loyola University, where he instructs ophthalmology residents in their clinical and surgical training. He was honored with the Educator of the Year award in 2021 for his contributions to resident education. Dr. Chiranand is also a Clinical Associate at the University of Chicago and is an author of many peer-reviewed publications, including co-authoring the latest edition of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Review Manual for Ophthalmology and American Society of Retina Specialists.
