About Me
Dr. Padmini Kaushal is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained uveitis specialist at Wheaton Eye Clinic. She provides a full range of management for patients with inflammatory eye conditions and general ophthalmology issues. Her expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases, and she is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Kaushal earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute. She further specialized through a uveitis, ocular immunology, and medical retina fellowship at the National Eye Institute, where she trained under world-renowned mentors. This advanced training allows her to manage a variety of complex inflammatory disorders. She takes a holistic approach to eye care and collaborates with primary care physicians and other specialists to provide comprehensive treatment.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Kaushal is actively involved in academic medicine. She has published numerous peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters, and she participates in training the next generation of ophthalmologists at the Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
