Dr. Sayena Jabbehdari
About Me
Dr. Sayena Jabbehdari is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in uveitis and medical retina. She serves as a fellow in the Uveitis and Medical Retina Fellowship within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Jabbehdari earned her medical degree from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, and went on to obtain a Master of Public Health in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of Illinois Chicago as well as an MBA from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University.
Her clinical interests include noninfectious and infectious uveitis, other ocular inflammatory diseases, and a wide range of medical retina conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, and age-related macular degeneration. Dr. Jabbehdari uses advanced retinal imaging and a multidisciplinary approach to connect eye findings with systemic health. She is committed to careful history-taking, thoughtful counseling, and shared decision-making so that patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and the long-term implications for both vision and overall well-being.
