About Me
Dr. Oscar R. Batlle is an ophthalmologist with advanced training in vitreoretinal care. He provides evaluation and surgical treatment for diseases of the retina and vitreous, including vision-threatening conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, macular edema, and retinal detachment. Patients value his clear explanations and careful, step-by-step approach to protecting and restoring sight.
Originally from the Dominican Republic and a third-generation ophthalmologist, Dr. Batlle completed undergraduate studies at Tulane University and earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He returned to Tulane for ophthalmology residency training and then completed a vitreoretinal fellowship. He has also participated in community-focused vision screening efforts and joined Vision Care of Maine in 2014, caring for patients across Central and Northern Maine.
