About Me
Dr. Anthony S. Ekong is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical retina and uveitis—conditions that affect the retina, vitreous, and the inflammatory tissues inside the eye. At Retina & Uveitis Consultants of Maine, he focuses on timely evaluation and treatment to help patients protect and restore vision.
Dr. Ekong earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed an ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center. He completed fellowship training in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School and a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Retina Vascular Center in Houston. His care includes laser treatment and intravitreal injections for conditions such as wet macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and uveitis. He has participated in overseas medical missions and values compassionate, patient-centered care.
