Dr. Curt Young

Dr. Curt Tyler Young is an ophthalmologist who provides medical and surgical eye care for patients across Northern Maine. He is known for a hands-on, team-based approach in the operating room and takes time to explain diagnoses and treatment options in plain language.

Before becoming a physician, Dr. Young began his healthcare career as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Syracuse University, then completed his medical degree at St. Christopher’s College of Medicine in Cambridge, England (2002). He trained in New Orleans with ophthalmology electives at Tulane University and Louisiana State University and completed an internal medicine internship. He later returned to Tulane, where he completed a retina fellowship.

Dr. Young returned to Maine to care for friends and neighbors and to continue a long-standing commitment to high-quality eye care, including cataract and retina services.
