About Me
Nathan L. Scott, MD, MPP is a vitreoretinal surgeon and ocular oncologist who cares for both complex retinal disease and cancers of the eye. An Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Division Chief of Ocular Oncology, he offers medical and surgical treatment for conditions ranging from retinal detachment and macular disorders to uveal melanoma and retinoblastoma. Patients value his clear communication, collaborative approach, and careful attention to vision-preserving detail.
Dr. Scott completed ophthalmology residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by dual fellowships in Vitreoretinal Surgery and Ocular Oncology at Bascom Palmer. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he is active in national service and mentorship and leads clinical research that applies advanced imaging and molecular tools to improve diagnosis and treatment for eye tumors and retinal disease.
