Dr. Naomi Hasegawa

Dr. Naomi Hasegawa is a retina physician in training with Austin Retina Associates. An Austin native, she earned dual degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Plan II Honors at The University of Texas at Austin and completed medical school at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She went on to ophthalmology residency at UT Houston and is now a vitreoretinal surgery fellow with Austin Retina Associates and Dell Medical School.

Dr. Hasegawa cares for patients with diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, and other conditions affecting the macula and peripheral retina. She believes in education-forward, compassionate care—taking time to explain imaging, treatment options, and expected recovery so patients feel informed at every step. Outside the clinic she enjoys creative pursuits, and she brings the same focus on precision and communication to each visit, coordinating closely with referring doctors to ensure timely, seamless care.
