About Me
Dr. Mustafa Iftikhar is the Stephen J. Ryan Assistant Chief of Service and assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine. He provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for retinal and vitreous diseases, combining meticulous technique with a patient-centered, evidence-based approach. Dr. Iftikhar completed his ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Duke University Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Iftikhar’s research interests include retinal diseases, ocular trauma, and addressing disparities in eye care. He is deeply committed to surgical education and takes great pride in mentoring the next generation of ophthalmologists.
