Dr. Michelle C. Liang is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Tufts University School of Medicine and a vitreoretinal surgeon at the New England Eye Center in Boston, MA. She specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the retina and vitreous, helping patients with diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment. Her expertise includes advanced procedures like the implantation of the Argus II retinal prosthesis for retinitis pigmentosa.
She is actively involved in teaching and mentoring residents and fellows, serving as co-director of the vitreoretinal surgery fellowship. Dr. Liang's research focuses on retinal imaging and developing new therapies for macular degeneration and other retinal diseases, contributing to scientific papers and co-editing a book on anti-VEGF use in ophthalmology.
