Dr. Michael Jansen

Dr. Michael Jansen, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon who treats the full spectrum of medical and surgical retina conditions. He cares for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes and epiretinal membranes, retinal tears and detachments, retinal vascular disease, and bothersome floaters, offering laser, injection, and surgical options tailored to each patient’s needs. Patients value his clear communication and steady, step-by-step approach to preserving and restoring vision. Dr. Jansen graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine (MD 2013), completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Before returning to Colorado, he founded the retina service at New York Medical College and served as Chief of Vitreoretinal Surgery at Westchester Medical Center, training residents and medical students and presenting his work at national meetings. He is proud to bring that experience to patient care in Colorado.
