About Me
Dr. Matthew Giegengack is an ophthalmologist at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, specializing in cornea and external eye diseases. He treats conditions such as cataracts, Fuchs' dystrophy, corneal ectasia, and pterygium, and performs advanced procedures including LASIK, refractive cataract surgery, corneal transplants (penetrating keratoplasty and DSEK), and phototherapeutic keratectomy.
Dr. Giegengack earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, completed an internal medicine internship at Cabrini Medical Center, an ophthalmology residency at Casey Eye Institute, and a cornea and external disease fellowship, also at Casey Eye Institute. He is board certified in ophthalmology and serves as an associate professor in Winston-Salem.
