About Me
Dr. Mathew George is a board-certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist at Florida Eye Surgeons and Associates. He was awarded the Marvis Sears Award for Excellence in Ophthalmology in 2011. Dr. George provides medical and surgical eye care, performing sutureless cataract surgery with advanced intraocular lenses and various types of conventional and newer glaucoma lasers and surgeries, including Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS).
Dr. George completed his residency training in ophthalmology at Yale and pursued advanced fellowship training in medical retina and uveitis at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, followed by a medical and surgical glaucoma fellowship at Tulane University. His clinical background includes extensive experience in managing glaucoma, cataracts, and complex retinal conditions.
He moved to central Florida in 2013 to join the Sakowitz Eye Center and is now part of a team of fellowship-trained subspecialists. Dr. George is dedicated to providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art eye care for a wide range of ophthalmic conditions.
