About Me

Dr. Marlee Silverstein is a board-certified ophthalmologist who cares for children and adults with misalignment of the eyes and related vision concerns. At UNC’s Kittner Eye Center, she evaluates everything from newborn tearing and amblyopia to complex eye movement disorders and double vision in adults. Patients appreciate her clear explanations and collaborative approach, with a focus on helping families make confident decisions that support life-long visual development and quality of life. Before joining the UNC Department of Ophthalmology, Dr. Silverstein graduated in the top 10% of her class at Sidney Kimmel Medical College and completed ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University, where she served as Chief Resident. She then pursued fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Outside clinic, she enjoys the arts and time outdoors with her family. She welcomes new patients in Chapel Hill and works closely with referring pediatricians and adult eye care providers to ensure seamless care.
