Meet Dr. Sharon Freedman
About Me
Dr. Freedman is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in pediatric eye diseases, with particular expertise in childhood glaucoma, cataracts, and retinopathy of prematurity. She is dual fellowship-trained in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus as well as glaucoma, and she treats both children and adults. Her clinical practice encompasses a wide range of eye conditions, including eye movement disorders and adult strabismus.
Dr. Freedman has served as a professor of ophthalmology and pediatrics at Duke University since 2007 and is chief of pediatric ophthalmology. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care, guided by her philosophy of treating every patient as she would wish to be treated. Dr. Freedman also actively participates in research on pediatric eye diseases and has authored numerous publications in the field.
