About Me
Prof. Marco Mura is a distinguished ocular microsurgeon with over 20 years of experience in hospitals and medical universities worldwide. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment, utilizing advanced surgical techniques such as vitrectomy and scleral buckling.
Prof. Mura is known for his patient-centered approach, taking time to listen to concerns and develop customized treatment plans. He provides clear explanations of conditions and options, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their care. His practice includes patients of all ages, from children with congenital eye diseases to elderly patients with age-related conditions.
Currently, he serves as Full Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Ferrara and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Arcispedale Sant'Anna of Ferrara. Fluent in Italian, English, and Dutch, he has trained numerous vitreoretinal surgeons internationally and continues to contribute to research and surgical innovation in his field.
