About Me

Dr. Marco Ji is a vitreoretinal specialist who provides medical and surgical care for disorders of the retina and macula. Raised in Italy, he graduated with honors from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, then moved to the United States where he completed a research fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Stanford, an internship at Mount Sinai (Bronx), and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He went on to a medical retina fellowship at the National Eye Institute/NIH and is completing a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship with Austin Retina Associates and Dell Medical School.

Dr. Ji cares for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, and complex pediatric retinal disease. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and remains active in translational research, particularly in ROP and retinal imaging. Patients appreciate his calm, thorough explanations and team-based approach to tailoring treatment—whether that means office-based injections, laser, or advanced surgery.
