About Me
Marc Michelson, M.D. is a refractive cataract and lens implant surgeon and corneal specialist at Alabama Eye & Cataract Center, P.C., located at UAB Highlands in Birmingham, Alabama. He also serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine.
Dr. Michelson provides routine cataract surgery and lens implants, as well as complex and complicated cataract surgery consultations for patients who have had previous LASIK, RK, or cataract and lens implant surgery elsewhere. He specializes in vision correction after cataract surgery with advanced technology lens implants, including toric lens implants to correct astigmatism and presbyopia-correcting lens implants such as the ReSTOR Multifocal Lens Implant and the AcrySof IQ PanOptix Presbyopia-Correcting Intraocular Lens (IOL). His expertise helps cataract surgery patients reduce their dependence on eyeglasses, reading glasses, and bifocals.
Dr. Michelson is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Royal Society of Medicine, the Castroviejo Society, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. He has been elected by his peers for inclusion in "Best Doctors in America®."
