About Me
Dr. Lloyd Williams is a corneal specialist and ophthalmologist dedicated to helping patients of all ages preserve, restore, and maximize their vision. He takes the time to listen to each patient's goals and concerns, ensuring they feel like the most important person in the room during clinic visits and surgery. Dr. Williams offers a range of refractive surgery options, including LASIK, PRK, implantable contact lenses, and refractive lens exchange, to provide customized treatments. He also specializes in cataract surgery with premium lenses, corneal transplants, and other procedures of the eye surface.
Beyond his clinical practice at Duke Health, Dr. Williams is deeply involved in humanitarian eye care in Africa and around the world. He founded HelpMercy International and co-founded the Moran CORE education website. His surgical work was featured in the award-winning movie "Duk County." In his personal time, Dr. Williams lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and three children, with whom he wrote and produced a full-length musical titled "RISE." He enjoys cycling, rock climbing, and building and playing musical instruments.
