About Me
Dr. Leiv M. Takle Jr. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, cataract surgeon, and oculoplastic surgeon practicing in Griffin, Georgia. He specializes in comprehensive eye care, no-injection no-stitch cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, treatment of macular degeneration, dry eyes, and diabetic retinal disease. Dr. Takle is fellowship-trained in oculoplastic, orbital, and cosmetic surgery, with expertise in blepharoplasty, eyelid and facial skin cancer reconstruction after Mohs surgery, and nasolacrimal duct surgery.
Dr. Takle completed his ophthalmology residency and internship at the Emory Eye Center and pursued a fellowship in oculoplastic, orbital, and cosmetic surgery at the same institution. He is trained in the latest techniques including reconstruction of eyelids after skin cancer removal, ptosis repair, brow lifts, and Botox and fillers. Dr. Takle believes in treating each patient as an individual and emphasizes thorough explanation of risks, benefits, and alternatives to ensure patients feel fully informed about their procedures.
He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Takle is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Medical Association of Georgia, where he serves on the District 6 Board of Directors. He also holds the position of Chief of Surgery at Spalding Regional Hospital.
