Dr. Lawrence Flanders

Angela Gauthier, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Director of the Cornea Service at Glaucoma-Cataract Consultants. A Maryland native, she graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with an AB in Neuroscience, earned her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, and completed ophthalmology residency and a Cornea and External Disease fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. She joined the practice in 2023. Dr. Gauthier diagnoses and treats a wide range of corneal and lens conditions, from refractive errors and cataracts to Fuchs dystrophy and keratoconus. She offers refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK), cataract surgery with standard and premium lenses, IOL exchanges, and iris or scleral-fixated lens solutions. She is experienced with modern corneal transplantation techniques, including DMEK, DSAEK, and PKP, and is committed to individualized care that prioritizes safety, clarity of vision, and long-term ocular health.

Michael E. Sulewski, MD, is a cornea, cataract and anterior segment surgeon who helps patients restore clarity and comfort when the front of the eye is affected by disease or prior surgery. He performs advanced cataract surgery, manages complex intraocular lens issues and offers the full spectrum of corneal transplantation—including keratoprosthesis—tailoring each procedure to the patient’s goals and ocular health. Dr. Sulewski also provides refractive options and comprehensive care for a wide range of corneal and ocular surface disorders. At the Wilmer Eye Institute, he serves in both clinical and educational roles and is committed to surgical outcomes research that continuously improves patient care. Patients appreciate his direct communication style and thoughtful, step-by-step guidance from evaluation through recovery. His practice spans several Johns Hopkins locations, making specialized corneal care accessible across the region.

Dr. Daliya Dzhaber is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Chesapeake Eye Care and Laser Center who cares for adults with both front-of-the-eye and retinal conditions. She specializes in cataract surgery, including laser-assisted techniques, as well as cornea and refractive surgery, uveitis, and medical retina. Drawing on extensive training in multiple subspecialties, she offers patients advanced diagnostic imaging and a wide range of medical and surgical options tailored to their visual needs. Originally from Russia, Dr. Dzhaber graduated summa cum laude from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia School of Medicine and completed an ophthalmology residency at the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution, where she served as chief resident. She then completed research and clinical fellowships in cornea, uveitis, and medical retina at Wilmer Eye Institute, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the University of Washington, and Duke Eye Center. Dr. Dzhaber is active in professional societies, has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and enjoys working closely with patients and their families to explain conditions and treatment options clearly so they feel informed and supported at every visit.
