Dr. Nandini Venkateswaran is a fellowship-trained cataract, cornea, and refractive surgeon in the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service at Mass Eye and Ear and serves as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. A New York native, Dr. Venkateswaran earned her medical degree with distinction in community health from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed ophthalmology residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute/University of Miami and fellowship training in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Duke Eye Center. She is active in national societies, has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and enjoys educating trainees while delivering compassionate, individualized care.

Dr. Daniel M Vu

Dr. Daniel M. Vu is a glaucoma specialist at Mass Eye and Ear who cares for both adults and children. He offers the full spectrum of glaucoma care, including medications, laser treatments, Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS), and traditional surgical options when needed. He also performs cataract surgery and discusses how lens choices and timing can pair with glaucoma care to optimize vision and safety. Patients appreciate his clear explanations, collaborative approach, and close coordination with the broader care team—including pediatric colleagues at Boston Children’s Hospital when appropriate. Dr. Vu earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, completed an internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, an ophthalmology residency at Duke Eye Center, and a glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he received additional training in pediatric glaucoma. He serves as Associate Fellowship Director for the Glaucoma Fellowship at Mass Eye and Ear and is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. He sees patients at the Mass Eye and Ear main campus on Charles Street and at the Longwood location in Boston.

Dr. Thuzar Thein

Dr. Thuzar Thein is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Mass Eye and Ear and an instructor in ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. She provides complete eye care with a focus on cataract evaluation and surgery, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of common eye conditions. Dr. Thein earned a BA in Neuroscience from Amherst College and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine before completing her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. She went on to an internship at Mount Auburn Hospital and ophthalmology residency at Yale School of Medicine. This combination of rigorous scientific training and surgical experience informs a careful, evidence-based approach to each visit. Dr. Thein is committed to education—making time to answer questions, set expectations, and discuss lens choices and recovery—and she collaborates with colleagues across Mass General Brigham to coordinate subspecialty care when needed. She welcomes new patients in Boston and Stoneham.
