About Me
Dr. Joshua D. Levinson is a retina specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon with The Retina Group of Washington. He cares for patients with retinal diseases and conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, retinal detachment, retinal tears, retinal vein occlusions, uveitis, and inherited retinal dystrophies. His clinical work includes retinal laser procedures and intravitreal injections used to treat vision-threatening retinal disease.
Dr. Levinson earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and attended medical school at Emory University. He completed ophthalmology residency training at Emory University School of Medicine and later completed a two-year Surgical Retina Fellowship in the combined Retina Group of Washington–Washington Hospital Center–Georgetown University Hospital program. He has presented research at national meetings and has authored published research on topics including improving the safety of intravitreal injections and outcomes of retinal surgery for retinal detachment and diabetic eye disease.
