Dr. Joseph Chen

Dr. Marissa K. Shoji is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic and orbital surgeon. She specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive eyelid, brow, and orbital procedures; lacrimal (tear-duct) surgery; thyroid eye disease; and the care of eyelid and orbital tumors. Dr. Wang is a board-certified vitreoretinal surgeon caring for adults with diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous. Raised in the Bay Area, he earned a BS in bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley (Highest Honors), completed medical school at Harvard, and stayed at Massachusetts Eye and Ear for both ophthalmology residency and a retina fellowship. He has served on the faculty at Yale and is now an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF, where he teaches residents and vitreoretinal surgery fellows.At Northern California Retina Vitreous Associates, Dr. Wang treats age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular pucker and holes, vein occlusions, and inflammatory retinal disease. Dr. Kinde received his MD from Harvard Medical School and completed a PhD at Harvard University before ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He then pursued fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
