Meet Dr. Joseph Juyo Chen

Dr. Joseph Chen is a board-certified glaucoma and cataract surgeon at DLV Vision who blends precision surgery with a warm, down-to-earth style of care. He graduated from Stanford University and earned his MD at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also completed ophthalmology residency. He then pursued fellowship training in glaucoma at the Moran Eye Center (University of Utah) under the late Dr. Alan Crandall, a world-renowned cataract and glaucoma surgeon. Since 2014, Dr. Chen has cared for patients across Ventura County.Dr. Chen offers a full spectrum of options—from laser-assisted cataract surgery with advanced lens implants to minimally invasive and complex glaucoma procedures. He tailors every plan to the patient’s vision goals, discussing risks, benefits, and recovery in plain language and coordinating convenient follow-up. His goal is simple: clearer vision, safer surgery, and fewer drops when possible.
