Dr. John Galasso

Dr. John M. Galasso is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist at Retina Consultants, Ltd., serving patients in the greater Chicago area. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachments, and pediatric retinal disease. These vision-threatening conditions require expert care, and Dr. Galasso offers both medical management and advanced surgical interventions, including vitrectomy and laser therapy.

Dr. Galasso earned his medical degree and a doctorate in neuroscience from the University of Michigan. He completed an internship at Northwestern University, an ophthalmology residency at Loyola University Medical Center, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

When he is not treating patients, Dr. Galasso enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, watching his boys play hockey, and traveling.
