About Me
Dr. Joel Miller is an experienced ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. With over 36 years of practice, he manages a wide range of retinal conditions including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes. Patients can expect comprehensive eye care focused on preserving and improving vision.
Dr. Miller's medical journey began in the Detroit area. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship at Sinai Hospital, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident, and a retina fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Miller is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds fellowships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He also serves as a clinical instructor at Wayne State University, sharing his expertise with the next generation of eye specialists.
