About Me
Dr. Susan Malinowski is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreo-retinal disease and retina surgery at Retina Consultants of Michigan. She treats a range of conditions including retinal detachments, macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusions, and is dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care in close partnership with referring physicians. Patients benefit from her commitment to advancing low-cost, alternative treatments for blinding eye diseases.
Dr. Malinowski is an associate professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, where she mentors medical students and serves as an advisor for student development and professionalism. She has developed a novel hybrid retina-specific telehealth platform to make it easier for patients to continue their care remotely. Deeply involved in education, she lectures nationally and internationally, serves as an exam developer and examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology, and holds multiple patents in ophthalmology-related products.
Fluent in Polish and Spanish, Dr. Malinowski is affiliated with several major Detroit-area hospitals, including William Beaumont Hospital, Straith Hospital, St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital Center, and Detroit Medical Center Hospitals. She is a fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the Vitreous Society.
