Dr. Jo Ann Giaconi

Dr. JoAnn Giaconi is a glaucoma specialist at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute, where she practices and performs surgery for patients with glaucoma and cataracts. She holds the title of Health Sciences Professor of Ophthalmology and serves as Chief of Ophthalmology for the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Administration, a major teaching site for residents, fellows, and medical students.

Dr. Giaconi is actively involved in medical education and has published over 40 research papers on glaucoma and medical education. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Glaucoma Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and has held leadership roles in these groups. Dr. Giaconi has been recognized with awards for her contributions to medical student education and clinical science.
