About Me
Jennifer R. Gallagher, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon who cares for adults with medical and surgical diseases of the retina. She enjoys partnering with patients to explain their diagnosis, outline clear treatment options, and support them through each step of care. Her approach balances advanced imaging and microsurgical techniques with practical guidance tailored to a patient’s lifestyle and goals for vision.
Dr. Gallagher graduated from West Texas A&M University and earned her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. She completed an ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where she served as chief resident, followed by a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at The University of Texas Health San Antonio. She joined Southwest Retina Specialists in 2021 and is available for referrals for both urgent and complex retinal conditions.
