About Me
Dr. Ambati is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical retina care. He serves as the DuPont Guerry, III, Professor of Ophthalmology and Vice Chair for Research at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where he also founded the Center for Advanced Vision Science. His clinical focus includes the diagnosis and management of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and other vitreoretinal disorders.
With advanced fellowship training in retina at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Dr. Ambati brings extensive experience to the treatment of complex retinal conditions. He is dedicated to advancing vision science through research, particularly in macular degeneration.
