About Me
Dr. Jason Horowitz is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center who joined Columbia in 2011 after 25 years of retinal care in Waterbury, Connecticut. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Medical School, and completed his ophthalmology residency at Yale and a retinal fellowship at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center.
Dr. Horowitz currently serves as Medical Director of the Residents' Eye Clinic at Harkness Eye Institute, where he evaluates and treats patients with a wide range of ocular diseases. He also performs essential evaluations for retinopathy of prematurity in the neonatal intensive care unit at Columbia's Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. For adults, Dr. Horowitz manages complex retinal and macular disorders such as retinal detachments, macular pucker, and macular holes.
With over 36 years of retinal practice experience, Dr. Horowitz employs advanced medical and surgical modalities including laser, pharmacological, and surgical therapies. He focuses on conditions like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and epiretinal membranes, using up-to-date techniques to prevent or correct visual impairment.
