About Me
Dr. Helen L. Kornmann is a fellowship-trained glaucoma clinician and surgeon who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma. She cares for patients with early to complex disease and offers individualized plans that may include medications, laser therapy, and advanced surgical options—always with an emphasis on clear communication and long-term vision preservation. Dr. Kornmann completed undergraduate training at UCLA and earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University. She was selected for UCLA’s Eye Specialty Training and Advanced Research Program (EyeSTAR), where she completed a PhD in vision neuroscience, and then completed her ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. She pursued subspecialty glaucoma fellowship training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and later joined the Bascom Palmer faculty as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology, contributing to education, research, and the care of complex glaucoma patients.
