About Me
Dr. Michelle R. Butler is a board-certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist at Glaucoma Associates of Texas in Dallas. She joined the practice in 2013 and provides medical, laser, and surgical treatments for glaucoma. Dr. Butler is a native Texan and is dedicated to managing glaucoma to preserve her patients' vision.
She completed her glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. Dr. Butler did her ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, where she served as chief resident. She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine as an honor graduate and her undergraduate degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University, graduating summa cum laude.
Throughout her training, Dr. Butler received numerous awards, including the Lechner Scholarship, membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the Goar Research Award, and the Schindler Award for ethics. She also received a grant from the Lions Foundation for Sight Research. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
