About Me
Dr. Giovanni H. Greaves is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and medical retina. He cares for a wide range of retinal conditions—including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, vitreous floaters, and inherited retinal diseases—and also performs pterygium excision. Dr. Greaves is known for communicating clearly about diagnosis and options, and for tailoring treatment plans that balance vision, safety, and lifestyle.
He earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, completed ophthalmology residency at Northwell Health (formerly North Shore–LIJ) where he served as chief resident, and pursued a medical retina fellowship at UCLA through the Jules Stein and Doheny Eye Institutes. From preventive care to ongoing injection therapy and surgical management when needed, Dr. Greaves partners closely with patients to preserve sight and quality of life.
