About Me
Dr. Gayle Leff Goldstein is a board-certified ophthalmologist practicing in the Atlanta area. She specializes in the latest technology in cataract surgery and focuses on fitting each patient's visual goals to the optimal lens implant, including treatment for astigmatism, presbyopia, nearsightedness, and farsightedness. She also manages patients with multiple ocular and systemic conditions. In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Goldstein provides care for glaucoma, dry eye, blepharitis, eyelid disorders, and diabetic eye concerns, and she offers LASIK evaluation. She is actively involved in research evaluating new medications that may affect the eyes.
Dr. Goldstein earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia after completing undergraduate studies in psychology at Boston University. She trained with a transitional internship at Georgia Baptist Medical Center and an ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute, Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She returned to Atlanta in 2001 and has been on staff at Emory Decatur Hospital and Eastside Medical Center since that time, serving as Chief of the Ophthalmology Department at Emory Decatur Hospital since 2016. Dr. Goldstein is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Georgia Ophthalmology Association, and ASCRS.
