About Me
Dr. Franco Recchia is a vitreoretinal specialist at Tennessee Retina. He treats a range of retinal conditions, with a particular focus on pediatric retinal diseases and complicated retinal detachment. He sees patients at the Nashville and Murfreesboro locations.
Dr. Recchia earned his medical degree from Duke University and completed his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital. He then pursued fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery and retinal diseases at the University of Pennsylvania and William Beaumont Hospital. Before joining Tennessee Retina, he was a faculty member at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute, where he served as Chief of the Retina Division.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Recchia is actively involved in research and education. He has co-authored a book on retinal disease and contributed to numerous publications and presentations. He has received multiple honors, including being named among the "Best Doctors in America" annually since 2008.
