About Me
Dr. Eugene McLaurin is an ophthalmologist with over 40 years of experience in eye care. He received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical School and completed his residency at the Oakland Naval Hospital and University of California at San Francisco. Dr. McLaurin served as a U.S. Navy Flight Surgeon and began practicing in 1981.
Dr. McLaurin specializes in refractive surgery and was the first refractive surgeon in Savannah, performing his first RK in 1985. He now uses advanced laser technology, including the VISX Laser and Summit Autonomous Laser, for laser vision correction. He also has extensive experience in the treatment of glaucoma, particularly with Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) for open angle glaucoma. Dr. McLaurin is a member of the American Medical Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the Cordes Eye Society, a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He joined Total Eye Care, P.A. in 2003 and is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care services.
