About Me
Dr. Eric Ruff is a board-certified ophthalmologist who cares for diseases of the retina, vitreous and macula. He provides both medical and surgical treatment, with a calm, step-by-step approach that focuses on answering questions and helping patients understand their options. Before joining clinical practice, Dr. Ruff completed advanced vitreoretinal training, where he gained extensive experience with complex retinal detachment repair, macular surgery, and the full spectrum of in-office retina procedures. He also served as a co-chief resident during ophthalmology residency and has presented research at national meetings.
Patients can expect thoughtful counseling, detailed imaging review, and individualized care plans that may include observation, office-based injections or laser, or operating-room procedures when needed. Dr. Ruff works closely with referring doctors and families to coordinate care and follow-up, and he enjoys caring for patients with long-standing diabetic eye disease as well as those facing urgent retinal problems. His goal is to preserve and restore vision using evidence-based care and the latest surgical techniques.
