About Me
Dr. Eric P. Suan is a retina specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon who serves patients in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He is the founder of The Retina Care Center, where he provides medical and surgical treatments for diseases of the retina and vitreous. His areas of expertise include the management of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, macular holes and puckers, retinal detachments, and retinal vein occlusions.
Dr. Suan is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He serves as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Maryland and an Adjunct Clinical Professor for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He has been actively involved in clinical research, serving as principal investigator for numerous clinical trials that have contributed to FDA-approved treatments for retinal conditions. His current research interests include novel therapies and gene therapy for dry age-related macular degeneration, as well as advanced drug delivery systems for wet AMD and diabetic retinopathy.
