Dr. Eric Kim

Dr. Maggie Strampe is a pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for children and adults with strabismus. She understands that doctor visits can feel intimidating for kids and uses play and encouragement to make exams comfortable and fun. Her clinical interests include amblyopia, congenital cataract, blocked tear ducts and disorders of eye alignment across the lifespan. She works closely with families to explain options and create treatment plans that fit each child’s needs and routines. Dr. Strampe completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota and previously completed undergraduate studies in French at the University of Minnesota. Having grown up in the Twin Cities, she is grateful to provide specialty eye care in the community she calls home.

Dr. Jenny Yunjie Wang is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. At Essentia Health in Duluth, she cares for infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of eye conditions, offering thoughtful evaluation, clear communication, and treatment plans tailored to each family’s goals. Dr. Wang treats common concerns like crossed eyes and lazy eye, as well as more complex problems such as pediatric cataracts, glaucoma, and uveitis. She also manages blocked tear ducts and eyelid disorders, and collaborates closely with pediatricians and subspecialists when eye findings relate to broader health issues. Families appreciate her calm, friendly manner and the way she explains what to expect before, during, and after treatment. Dr. Wang completed medical school at Indiana University, ophthalmology residency at the Mayo Clinic, and a dedicated pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. She welcomes new patients and is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based care that helps kids see—and thrive—at home, at school, and at play.

Dr. Lauren Diroff is a pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for children with conditions ranging from amblyopia and strabismus to pediatric cataracts and glaucoma. She combines a gentle bedside manner with precise surgical skill, partnering with families to create clear plans and reduce anxiety around exams and procedures. Dr. Diroff earned her medical degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, completed ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute, and pursued fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Mayo Clinic. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has received recognition for compassionate care and research during training. In addition to comprehensive pediatric care, she has special interest in complex strabismus and congenital eyelid and tear-duct disorders, and she remains committed to outreach through surgical service trips. Families appreciate her careful explanations, collaborative approach, and focus on helping each child achieve their best vision over time.
