About Me

Dr. Eric D. Kanter is a retina specialist serving patients in Livingston and Morristown, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Columbia University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed his training at the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Kanter was awarded the Fight for Sight Research Fellowship at the Yale University Eye Center.

Dr. Kanter has expertise in the surgical repair of complex retinal detachments and the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. He has served as a Member of the Board and Chief of the Ophthalmology Service at Short Hills Surgery Center and as attending surgeon at Saint Barnabas / Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. He has been a Principal Investigator in national clinical trials investigating new treatments for macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
