Dr. Elliott Brodbaker

Dr. Elliott Brodbaker, MD, MBA, is an ophthalmologist and the Founder & Chief Surgeon at NextGen Eye Surgeons of Texas. He has advanced medical and surgical training in cataract surgery, corneal surgery, and general ophthalmology. Dr. Brodbaker studied under some of the most widely respected ophthalmologists in the United States and Canada. His primary focus is on refractive cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and dry eye therapy.

Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Brodbaker attended York University, where he received his Honors Bachelor of Science degree with distinction. He went on to study medicine at the University of Ottawa, graduating with numerous academic and community-related awards. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and then pursued a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW). At UTSW, he trained with leaders in the field and became certified on several advanced laser platforms.

Dr. Brodbaker is actively involved in professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Association. He has published research in international peer-reviewed journals and book chapters and has presented at national ophthalmology meetings. He also holds an MBA with a specialization in finance and has taken additional coursework at Harvard University. In his spare time, Dr. Brodbaker enjoys spending time with his family, sports, stocks, travel, gardening, and community involvement.
