About Me
Eliot Dow, MD, PhD, is a retina specialist with Retinal Consultants Medical Group who provides comprehensive care for medical and surgical diseases of the vitreous and retina. Patients see Dr. Dow for problems such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachment, macular degeneration, macular hole and epiretinal membrane. He partners closely with patients and referring doctors to explain findings, outline options, and deliver timely, evidence-based treatment designed to protect sight and quality of life.
Dr. Dow completed combined MD/PhD training in New York City at Cornell University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and The Rockefeller University, where his research in sensory neuroscience earned multiple awards. He trained in ophthalmology at the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA and completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at Duke University. Before joining RCMG, he served as a clinical instructor at Stanford, helped lead an AI-based retinal screening program, and cared for veterans at the Palo Alto VA. Outside the clinic he enjoys cooking, making music, and spending time outdoors with his family.
