Dr. Dian Yu

Dr. Dian Yu is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon at the Mitchell & Morin Eye Institute. She provides medical, laser, and surgical eye care for patients across Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia. Dr. Yu earned her medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, completed an ophthalmology residency in the MedStar Washington Eye Center/Georgetown Ophthalmology Program, and pursued advanced fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease & Refractive Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Yu’s clinical interests span complex cataract surgery and the full spectrum of corneal and ocular surface disease. She offers laser cataract surgery with advanced technology lenses, performs corneal transplantation and pterygium surgery, and treats dystrophies such as Fuchs as well as keratoconus. She also provides refractive options including Refractive Lens Exchange and ICL for eligible patients. Dr. Yu focuses on clear communication and customized plans so each patient understands their options and what to expect at every step.
