About Me
Dr. Zacks is a retina specialist at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, where he focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous. He manages conditions such as retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and other retinal vascular disorders. His expertise includes both medical and surgical management, including complex retinal detachment surgery and macular procedures.
Dr. Zacks is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. He takes time to explain conditions and treatment options clearly, helping patients make informed decisions about their eye health. Dr. Zacks completed his medical and doctoral training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by residency and fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He has been a faculty member at the University of Michigan since 2002, where he also leads research into the molecular mechanisms of retinal cell death.
