About Me
Dr. David Plager is an ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric eye conditions and adult strabismus. As Director of the Section of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Indiana University Medical Center, he provides care for children and adults with a range of eye disorders.
Dr. Plager's clinical expertise includes strabismus (eye muscle misalignment), pediatric cataracts, pediatric glaucoma, and vascular malformations affecting the eye. He has a particular focus on the treatment of oblique muscle dysfunction. He also treats retinoblastoma, ptosis, and inherited genetic eye diseases.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Plager has contributed extensively to research in pediatric ophthalmology, including studies on retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric cataracts, and pediatric glaucoma. He has been recognized for his contributions through numerous awards from national ophthalmology organizations.
