About Me
Dr. Christine Wang is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in advanced cataract surgery, premium intraocular lenses, and refractive surgery. She completed advanced subspecialty training at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins, one of the top centers for ophthalmic surgery. Her expertise includes a full range of premium intraocular lenses, such as multifocal, extended depth of focus, and toric lenses, and she offers LASIK, PRK, implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery, and refractive lens exchange to help patients achieve visual freedom and reduce dependence on glasses.
Dr. Wang is also skilled in corneal transplantation, including full- and partial-thickness techniques such as penetrating keratoplasty (PK), deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK), and Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK). She tailors surgical plans to each patient's individual anatomy and visual goals, with an evidence-based, results-driven approach. Additionally, she provides glaucoma monitoring and minimally invasive glaucoma interventions when needed.
A Bay Area native, Dr. Wang completed her ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Virginia, where she served as Chief Resident and received the Resident Research Award. She has published research on corneal transplantation, glaucoma risk, and refractive techniques, and she contributed as a reviewer for the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Basic and Clinical Science Course in Refractive Surgery. Dr. Wang is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society, and Women in Ophthalmology, and she is known for her structured, high-precision approach and clear communication.
