Meet Dr. Bret Crumpton
About Me
Dr. Bret Crumpton is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma, cataract surgery, and LASIK. He has been practicing at West Georgia Eye Care Center since 1999, providing expert care to patients in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Crumpton focuses on both surgical and medical treatments for glaucoma, aiming to prevent permanent vision loss. He is skilled in advanced glaucoma procedures, including filtration surgery, tube shunt surgery, and laser surgery, as well as cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) and LASIK for vision correction.
During his glaucoma fellowship, Dr. Crumpton received specialized training in the use of antimetabolites to improve surgical outcomes and has conducted research on wound healing in glaucoma surgery. He is dedicated to restoring and preserving his patients' vision, whether through vision-correcting procedures like LASIK and cataract surgery or by managing complex glaucoma cases. Dr. Crumpton also serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Muscogee County Medical Society and as a counselor for the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, contributing to the broader medical community.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Crumpton has participated in medical mission trips to rural areas in China, Jamaica, and Kenya, where he performed cataract and glaucoma surgery. He is actively involved in his local church and community, and he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and outdoor activities.
