About Me
Dr. Brent B. Hoffman is a fellowship-trained cornea and cataract surgeon at Raleigh Ophthalmology. His practice focuses on cataract eye surgery and corneal disease, and he provides care at the Clayton, North Raleigh, and Raleigh offices. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he completed his medical degree at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He then pursued an internal medicine internship at Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama, strengthening his background in systemic conditions that can affect eye health.
Dr. Hoffman completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by a cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery fellowship at Legacy Health Devers Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon. His training equips him to manage a wide range of corneal problems, from dry eye and Fuchs’ dystrophy to keratoconus and pterygium, and to offer advanced treatments such as corneal cross-linking, endothelial keratoplasty procedures like DSEK, and corneal transplantation. He also performs cataract surgery with an emphasis on achieving excellent visual outcomes. Dr. Hoffman strives to provide clear explanations, thoughtful recommendations, and personalized care so that patients feel confident and supported throughout diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
